On Track Community Volunteers

5th September 2017 by Lisa Xuereb

On Track Community Volunteers

Are you committed to making a difference to people’s lives?

Are you looking for an exciting new challenge?

We are currently looking for community volunteers to support young people aged 16-24 in our On Track project and help young people to keep their employment, training or education.

The On Track project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund. The project was created to clear barriers to work for young people with multiple and complex needs in Norfolk. On Track is a partnership project led by The Matthew Project with ACE, GYROS, NANSA, The Prince’s Trust and YMCA Norfolk.

The role requires supporting 16-24 year olds who have previously received coaching from an On Track member of staff. The young person would have completed a programme of coaching and will either have moved or be in the transition process of moving into employment, education or training.

You will provide support to the young person by listening to their concerns, encouraging their employment or training achievements and helping them to find answers to questions. You will communicate with young people to help them to sustain their career goals and support them to achieve and develop.

You will be able to communicate with the young person via text messages, phone calls and face to face meetings between office hours and in a public space. We would like to hear from people who have at least 1 hour once a week to spare between the hours of 9am to 5pm for at least a 9-month period and who are also able to attend induction training.

Due to the nature of the role you will need to be 18+, complete a DBS check and provide two references.

In return you will be provided with supervision every 6-8 weeks, be provided with development opportunities, and be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses.

If the role sounds of interest, then we want to hear from you!

For further information and to apply for a volunteer position please email contact@ontracknorfolk.org or telephone 01603 723845.
