About YMCA Norfolk: Supporting Young People and Communities Across Norfolk

YMCA Norfolk | Supported Housing, Youth Work & Family Support in Norfolk
YMCA Norfolk is a leading youth charity providing supported housing, homelessness support, youth work, family support and wellbeing services throughout Norfolk. Every year, we help young people build confidence, develop life skills and move towards independent living.
We believe every young person across Norfolk deserves a safe place to live, access to the right support, and opportunities to thrive. Through our accommodation services, youth programmes and community support, we help young people navigate difficult circumstances and move towards independent, fulfilling lives.
Many of the young people we support are experiencing significant challenges, including homelessness, family breakdown, domestic abuse, social isolation, disrupted education, involvement with the criminal justice system, and poor physical or mental health. Our services are designed to provide practical support, guidance and stability during times of crisis.
Supporting Young People Across Norfolk
At YMCA Norfolk, we provide a wide range of services that support young people and their families throughout Norfolk. These include:
- Supported housing and accommodation
- Homelessness prevention and housing support
- Family support services
- Youth work and community programmes
- Health and wellbeing initiatives
- Advice, guidance and life skills development
Our experienced teams take a holistic approach, supporting young people’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing while helping them develop the confidence and skills needed for adulthood.
Safe Accommodation and Housing Support
Every night, YMCA Norfolk provides a safe home for around 240 vulnerable young people across the county.
We offer a range of supported accommodation options, from emergency housing for young people facing homelessness to longer-term supported housing that helps residents develop the skills needed for independent living. Alongside accommodation, we provide personalised support to help young people access education, employment and training opportunities.
By combining safe housing with practical support, we help young people build brighter futures and achieve greater independence.
Working in Communities Across Norfolk
Our services operate across both rural and urban communities throughout Norfolk. We support young people in a variety of settings, including schools, youth clubs, local communities and our accommodation centres.
We work alongside young people and their families to strengthen relationships, build confidence and develop the skills needed to make successful transitions into adulthood. By intervening early, we aim to prevent family breakdown and create positive long-term outcomes.
Part of a Global Movement
YMCA Norfolk is proud to be part of the worldwide YMCA movement, the largest and oldest youth charity network in the world. Together, YMCA organisations support millions of people across more than 100 countries.
As an independent local charity, YMCA Norfolk is responsible for raising the funds needed to deliver services across Norfolk and does not receive funding from national or international YMCA organisations.
Helping Young People Build Brighter Futures
For more than a century, YMCA Norfolk has been supporting young people facing challenges and helping them develop the skills, confidence and opportunities they need to thrive. Through housing, support services and community programmes, we continue to create safer, stronger and more resilient communities across Norfolk.
