Who is it for?

My Place is for 16-25 year olds. Entry is via HAF (Hostel Accommodation Form) referral from agencies and YMCA Housing Services.

Tenants have low to medium need/risk, with low tolerance for alcohol and substance misuse. Applicants with higher support needs may be considered with support packages from external agencies (eg Together UK, Probation Service), subject to assessment.

What are the aims?

My Place provides move on accommodation with a low level of housing related support.

Residents are encouraged to develop independent living skills, through measures such as tenancy management, budgeting skills and training & education opportunities.

They are encouraged to consider long-term life plans with a programme of positive activities and Community Living.

What accommodation is available?

40 self-contained flatlets. Accommodation is furnished with housekeeping undertaken by tenants. My Place is covered by CCTV, and is close to the city centre.

Who staffs My Place?

Property Coordinators manage the scheme 24 hours a day, every day. Support is provided between 9am and 9pm, with an allocated support worker.
