YMCA Norfolk CEO Tim Sweeting has completed his first-ever London Marathon and raised over £3,500 for the Christian charity.
Tim was part of a 26-strong team from YMCA England, who took part in the marathon on Sunday April 24, raising a record of almost £60,000 for the world’s largest youth charity.
After crossing the finishing line on The Mall near Buckingham Palace, Tim said: “I am pleased to say that I got around in one piece in 4hr 21mins.
“More importantly, due to the generosity of many people, we have raised well over £3,500.
“I am now looking forward to resting a little and getting my evenings back!”
Tim took part as part of YMCA Norfolk’s Challenge 160 year of fund-raising to mark its 160th anniversary.

Other members of staff at the Christian charity have already signed up for sky dives, team hikes, bike rides and marathons as part of Challenge 160.
This year, YMCA Norfolk is marking 160 years of service to the Norfolk community, and it hopes to find 160 people to join in the challenge, doing whatever kind of activity they enjoy to raise some much needed funds for its vital work with homeless and vulnerable young people across the county.
People can sign up for any organised charitable event and then donate their sponsorship to YMCA Norfolk or create their very own charity challenge.
