Norwich Central

Who is it for?

Norwich Central welcomes single, homeless young people aged 16-25 years. Residents have medium to high needs and risk, with a high tolerance to alcohol and substance misuse.

Entry is via HAF (Hostel Accommodation Form) referrals from agencies, self referrals and YMCA Housing Services. Norwich Central is particularly suited to young people who are looked after, leaving care or in crisis requiring emergency admission.

What are the aims?

The main aims here are recovery from crisis, with a focus on harm reduction and personal safety in a  safe and secure environment.

Residents are supported to develop independent living skills, through measures such as tenancy management, budgeting skills and training & education opportunities.

A programme of positive activities ensures that residents engage with a meaningful use of time, with short-term intensive support to progress towards move-on accommodation.

What accommodation is available?

36 en-suite rooms. Lounges and activity space are shared, with breakfast and evening meals provided. Norwich Central is covered by CCTV. Residents are responsible for the housekeeping of their own room. The residence is close to the city centre.

Who staffs Norwich Central?

There is a 24 hour staff service with housing related support 7.30am-11pm every day. Each resident will have an allocated key worker, and overnight housing management from 10.30pm-8am.
