Community Housing Great Yarmouth

Who is it for?

Community Housing Great Yarmouth is for young people aged 16-25 years or possibly up to 30 year olds in some circumstances. Entry is via HAF (Hostel Accommodation Form) referral from agencies, self-referral and YMCA Housing Services.

Tenants are low risk, low need with a low tolerance for alcohol and substance misuse. Applicants with medium support needs may be considered with support packages from external agencies (eg Together UK, Probation Service) subject to assessment.

What are the aims?

Community Housing Great Yarmouth provides a range of housing options through shared accommodation. Hall Quay is the starting point of the journey through our housing service. This provides a higher level of support before moving into a smaller shared houses with less support.

Residents are encouraged to develop independent living skills, through measures such as tenancy management, budgeting skills and training & education opportunities. They are also eligible for support from the Life Ready team.

What accommodation is available?

Hall Quay has 20 rooms and North Quay has 2 houses with 4 rooms. Accommodation is self-catering, with housekeeping undertaken by tenants. The kitchen, bathroom and lounge are shared, and the rooms are furnished. Hall Quay is covered by CCTV and is close to the town centre.

Who staffs Community Housing Great Yarmouth?

The properties have intensive housing management 9am-7pm weekdays, and 1pm-7pm weekends. An out-of-hours emergency contact is available 24 hours a day, every day. Each resident has an allocated tenancy support worker.
