DESCRIPTION:RUN FOR YOUR LOCAL YMCA \n\nYMCA Norfolk are looking for runners to sign up to Run Norwich on the 16th July 2023 and help YMCA Norfolk raise vital funds & much needed awareness.\n\nRun Norwich has been voted as the ‘Best 10k in the United Kingdom’ – presenting a scenic city centre course that takes runners through iconic landmarks such as Norwich Castle\, Norwich Cathedral and Carrow Road.\nThis year’s race route remains unchanged\, with the 10-kilometre course starting from outside the Norwich Theatre Royal.\n\nWhy run for us?\n\nYMCA Norfolk is a local independent charity committed to supporting young people in crisis to enable them to reach their full potential.\nEach night we provide a safe home for over 240 vulnerable young people across Norfolk that would otherwise be homeless or at risk of homelessness.\nWe support young people to develop their character\, strengthen their spirit\, develop living skills\, and access work\, education\, or training – eventually progressing into independent living. DESCRIPTION:Run Norwich is an award winning 10km road race\, organised by the NCFC Community Sports Foundation that takes place in the heart of Norwich’s beautiful and historic city centre. Run Norwich will make its eagerly anticipated return on Sunday 17th July 2022 after two years of postponement due to Covid-19. \nAs a partner charity for Run Norwich 2022 we are thrilled we can offer 30 places to runners who will commit to raising a minimum of £150 which will enable us to continue with the vital services we provide. In return we can offer a race shirt and support along the way\, a fundraising pack\, including sponsor forms\, and help with linking online fundraising to our YMCA fundraising site. You could even win one of our incentives to encourage you! \nTo apply for one of our charity places you will need to commit to raise a minimum of £150 by 22nd May and be available to take part on the race day. SUMMARY:YMCA Norfolk Exhibtion: Supporting Changing Needs in the Community for 160 years
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate YMCA Norfolk’s 160th anniversary year we have been running a project\, funded through the Heritage Lottery Fund to produce an exhibition that reveals the YMCA’s hidden history in Norfolk. Over the past few months young people at YMCA Norfolk have been finding out about the interesting and diverse history of the charity and have responded through visual interpretation\, deciding which stories are important to tell\, and by sharing their own experiences of the YMCA today. \nThe exhibition explores the diversity in the range of work and people involved in the YMCA as it supports the changing needs of local communities\, and will share some of the important work achieved throughout its history. \nOn display at the Museum of Norwich from 6th September – 17th October. Look out for dates of other locations across Norfolk coming soon!

DESCRIPTION:The Tour de Y: Norfolk Challenge is for cycling enthusiasts wanting to push themselves in a single day event. The route is 160km and will take approximately 10 hours. Starting at YMCA Norfolk’s accommodation centre in Central Norwich. Along the way we will take in areas of the county renowned for their scenic beauty including coastal areas\, Norfolk towns\, and the city of Norwich. \nFor more information about the event please click here to visit British Cycling. \nJoining instructions \nParticipants must be over the age of 18 by 28.05.2016 to take part. If you think you’re up for the challenge you can register on-line at Virgin Money Giving where you will be able to pay your registration fee and raise money.
