Stepping Stones Community Garden is not just a place to grow food, it is a place to grow community!
We manage two allotment plots in Norwich which provide young people with opportunities to learn about horticulture, develop new skills and grow their own food.
Our community garden begun in the autumn of 2014 when we took over a large plot nearby Norwich City Centre. With the help of YMCA Training and Duke of Edinburgh students the land has been cleared, seeded sown and our first produce planted and is expected May 2015.
Our Community Garden provides young people with the opportunity to volunteer time, learn about horticulture, develop skills, build confidence and meet new people.
It is a friendly and relaxed environment to learn about and get involved in planting, growing produce, landscaping and construction.
We also always need volunteers, so would be happy to hear from you if you have some time to give, or gardening or construction-related skills to share with others.
Produce from the Community Garden will be used in Stepping Stones Café, our training and skills social enterprise opposite Norwich Bus Station.
