Support in Schools

We recognise that being part of a family is not always easy and sometimes children, young people and parents experience difficult situations and may benefit from a little help.

Our Family Support Workers are there to help children and their families address any concerns or issues they may have. We offer advice and support on a range of issues to help overcome barriers, access other services and support children to reach their potential within their school.

We meet with families on a one-to-one basis. This can be within the school setting or in their own home, whichever is best for the family.

How does Family Support Work help?

We listen to each family’s story and find the right support for them and their child.

We have helped families with issues such as attendance, behaviour, bereavement, mental health, bullying concerns, special educational needs and separation. We also provide practical support including; benefits, debt, housing, transport and uniform.

We can provide support when families have meetings with schools and other professionals. We can also help parents access other services and agencies and signposting to receive specialist support.
