One of the most basic human rights is to have somewhere safe and stable to live, yet homelessness continues to affect many young people. Youth homelessness has many causes and takes many forms, including sofa surfing, inadequate housing as well as rough sleeping.
Keep the date – 7pm, Friday March 3 to 7am Saturday March 4 2017! You are invited to join with many others to raise funds to combat youth homelessness on this date.
Choose to give up your bed for one night, brave the cold and sleep under cardboard and get sponsored to help raise awareness and funding for YMCA Norfolk!
Not only will this be a challenging and eye-opening experience through which you will be making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people, but also an evening of fun and activities. For those taking part with their colleagues, Sleep Easy is also a great opportunity to build you team, raise your profile an meet corporate social responsibility targets.
In previous years sleepers have braved temperatures of -4°, waking up to frost covered boxes and sleeping bags. Their efforts weren’t in vain and so far the event has raised more than £50,000 for young people in Norfolk.
All money raised from this event will go towards the work of YMCA Norfolk, including the supported accommodation we provide for over 260 young people every night who might otherwise be homeless.
This contains more information about the event, ideas on how to stay warm and reach you fundraising targets.
