Welcome to E-learning
In its 17 years of operation, including 13 years as part of Norfolk County Council, the E-Learning Service has provided online education to several thousands of pupils; most of whom have reintegrated back into school or continued with their exams.
While primarily Norfolk based, we have worked with schools and academies in Suffolk and Kent and soon hope to expand our services to schools and academies in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.
Unlike most other online education companies, the E-Learning Service offers bespoke provision for individual students based on their learning needs, ability levels and school course. As a result, programmes can be tailored to the student and the school’s requirements with lessons being individually set, marked and commented on by subject teachers.
Lessons can be completed at any time of the day or week allowing flexibility where illness or other commitments prevent a fixed schedule. Those with SEMH, ME and ASD particularly value this flexibility and many students with anxiety prefer this option of working independently without having to share online lessons with other students.
In addition to 3 one-hour lessons each week, students have access to a time-tabled one-hour weekly Livechat tutorial in each of their subjects; this gives them an opportunity to instant message their subject teacher to get direct help with any work issues. Students who are too anxious to attend these sessions can contact their teachers for help via the secure online messaging system.
Work is usually completed by the pupil at home but can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection.
The E-Learning Service has also been used successfully for groups of students working alongside one another in school and in inclusion units.
Referrals can be made at any time in the school year and provision can end at any time with no notice period after the initial 6-week sessions.
