YMCA Norfolk celebrates its inspirational staff

05 April 2019 by Keith Morris

YMCA Norfolk celebrated its inspirational staff and told them about its future plans at a day for all colleagues at the King’s Centre in Norwich on April 4.

Chief executive, Tim Sweeting, told around 100 staff: “I hope you have enjoyed the day and it has made you feel more informed, involved and valued and you have a clear sense of where we are going together as YMCA Norfolk.

“Thank you for all you’re doing to transform young people’s lives. Together we can do even more to make an impact.”

Chaplain Joseph Zimmerman spoke to colleagues about a work life balance and they enjoyed some team-building challenges.

David Stone received a ten-year long service awards and then the winners of the annual staff awards were named.

Fundraising Team of the Year – King’s Lynn.  Raised almost £1,100 through attending the celebration ball, selling cans and a massive effort street collecting.

Highly Commended – Youth & Community

Team of the Year – Facilities. Cheerful and professional in what is often a challenging role, they manage an ever-widening range of issues with a smile on their faces and are a pleasure to have around.

Highly Commended – ICT

Staff Member of the Year – Denise Hunter. Provides a listening ear for everyone no matter what time of the day, bringing joy and laughter to the YMCA and a fantastic asset to the organisation. Denise is amazing at her job, passionate and caring beyond what the organisation would expect. A team player and welling to help anybody in any situation at any time.

Highly Commended – Laura Lane
