Help make Christmas special by joining YMCA Norfolk challenge

27 November 2017

YMCA Norfolk is inviting supporters to celebrate Christmas this year by joining its Big Give #christmaschallenge17 to help provide a special Christmas for young people and single parent families in its care.

The Christian charity’s appeal will help its young residents experience a special Christmas Day with lunch for up to 240 and a small personal gift.

In addition, 34 single parent families supported by YMCA Norfolk will receive a Christmas hamper with a toy for each child, helping alleviate the anxiety associated with not being able to provide for their family at Christmas.

Meanwhile the charity’s counselling service will address longer term issues many young people experience, such as family breakdown, having been made homeless.

And to make gifts go further, all money donated online at theBigGive.org.uk between midday on November 28 and December 5 will be matched and doubled up to a total of £16,000.

Fundraising & Marketing Manager, Susie Knights, said: “Every night of the year, YMCA Norfolk provides a safe place for 240 young people to sleep. You can help us make Christmas special for them this year by helping us raise £5,000 for Christmas dinners and gifts, plus £11,000 to provide counselling and support throughout the year.

“You can make a real difference to young people locally at risk of homelessness this Christmas.”

All donations made on the Big Give website will be doubled between midday on November 28 and midday on December 5. Donate by clicking here.
