Celebration ball raises £13,000 for work of YMCA Norfolk

22 September 2017 by Keith Morris

Almost 140 people enjoyed a Monopoly-themed ball celebrating the work of YMCA Norfolk at Sprowston Manor Hotel near Norwich on Friday September 15, raising nearly £13,000 for the charity.

Guests enjoyed a three-course dinner and live entertainment from Norfolk five-piece party band, Wapscallions.

YMCA Norfolk Marketing and Fundraising Manager, Susie Knights, said: “We had a great night celebrating the work of the YMCA across Norfolk and the funds raised will make such a difference to our work with hundreds of vulnerable young people and families across the county. I want to thank all of our sponsors and everyone who came along on the night and were so generous.”

Funds were raised through sponsors, ticket sales and a raffle and silent auction, as well as a game of Norfolk style Heads & Tails.

Sponsors for the night included: Gleave Associates & Reed, Vega Direct Commercial Supplies, Softwerx, Berns Brett, Norse, Hunter Fleet and The Forum. Raffle prizes were donated by 50 local companies.
